Note From the Pastor

So far so good. This winter has been very mild. Very soon, we'll all be wearing shorts and t-shirts and fussing about spring allergies. Hopefully, your life has gotten back to some type of normalcy after the holidays. The church council is hard at work trying to finalize a new Constitution and Bylaws for the church. The current ones are outdated and do not reflect our current polity. Once we have them finalized, we will make copies available to everyone and have a "town hall meeting" to answer any questions and make sure that everyone is on the same page. So, please keep us in prayer as we go through this process.
When we think of February, the holiday that comes to mind is that warm, cozy, heart-thumping, romantic, pitter-patter, loving feeling for that someone special in our life; Punxsutawney Phil. Yes, Groundhog Day is fast approaching, so make sure you get all your Groundhog Day cards and presents early. Just kidding.
We think of Valentine's Day and we think of love. The Bible is the ultimate love letter. It is God's Valentine sent to each one of us revealing His great love. Why does He love us? Could it be because we are so lovable? Maybe it's because we are deserving? Maybe He loves us because we are so beautiful? The answer to all of these questions is "no". He loves us, because of Who He is. He loves because He chooses to love us. We love, because we expect something in return. God loves knowing that His love might not be reciprocated.
Everything that God does is motivated by His great love. Ephesians 2: 4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Maybe this month of love, we will allow the love of God to become our great motivator. We will love others, not because of who they are or how deserving we think they are, but we will love simply because God's love moves us to show the exceeding riches of His grace and His kindness.

God bless you and your family,
Pastor Robert
